Welcome to the Kon Jo Karate Club website. Patric Murphy is the chief instructor of our club. Mr. Murphy is a third degree black belt in Shotokan Karate. The maxims of Shotokan Karate can be summarized into the following words: Character Sincerity Effort Etiquette Self-control
It is our goal to practice these maxims in everything we do. Our club, Kon Jo, means guts. We believe it takes extreme courage to do great things.We are the karate club that believes in the power of the human spirit. We have the courage to see the beauty and power inside all of us. We have the guts to bring out the greatness inside of ourselves and others.
Every student is important. The Kon Jo Karate Club has taught the gifted athlete. We have also taught students who are confined to wheelchairs. Both are equally important. We support and care for each other. The accomplishments of one are the accomplishments of us all.
Our karate club is a member in the following organizations:American JKA Karate Association, Martial Arts Teacher Assocoation, United States Martial Artists Association, Cary-Grove Chamber of Commerce, and PowerPartners-CG.
